Ting at foretage sig på Elbphilharmonie
Elbphilharmonie (Elbe Philharmonic Hall) er en koncertsal på den vestlige spids af HafenCity-kvarteret i Hamborg. Salen blev officielt indviet med koncerter og et lysshow den 11. januar 2017. Den kombinerer innovativ arkitektur, da den nye glaskonstruktion ligner en bølge, på en enestående beliggenhed og med enestående akustik.
Det schweiziske arkitektfirma Herzog & de Meuron har designet Elbphilharmonie oven på Kaispeicher, som var et gammelt pakhus fra 1960'erne, der bruges til at lagre kakaobønner. I øjeblikket indeholder selve bygningen et hotel, luksuslejligheder, restauranter, et sundheds-og fitnesscenter og en offentlig plads, som tilbyder en 360° panoramaudsigt over byen. Elbphilharmonie er den højeste beboelsesbygning i Hamborg på 108 m.
Elbphilharmonie består af tre koncertsale: Großer Saal, Konzertsaal und Kaistudios. Großer Saal kan rumme op til 2100 mennesker. På grund af dens strategiske og unikke design, er der ikke nogle sæder med blokeret udsigt, mens salen leverer noget af verdens bedste akustik. Faktisk er det en af de største og akustisk mest avancerede koncertsale i verden.
Salen kan nemt tilgås med offentlig transport. Den nærmeste metrostation, Baumwall, er kun omkring 450 m væk på Hamburg Metro linje 3 og det nærmeste busstoppested, Am Kaiserkai, er mindre end 150 m væk. Hvis du er i en anden del af Hamburg, kan du også ankomme med færge til Elbphilharmonie-stoppet.
