Det kan du forvente

Lanzarotes vulkanske landskab kommer til sin ret i Timanfaya Nationalpark. Denne del af øen består af rustrøde bjergtoppe og kratere, der ligner noget fra en science fiction-film. Og det hele bliver endnu mere dramatisk ved solnedgang. Så på denne aftentur er du i for en oplevelse. Inden vi tager til Timanfaya, gør vi et kort stop ved La Geria-vingården. Den lokale guide, Maria, siger: "Denne bodega byder på en storslået kulisse af vulkanske vinmarker og en fantastisk udsigt over bjergene, mens du nyder lokale vine ved en vinsmagning."

Tag med os, mens vi kører ad parkens berømte Lunar Route rundt ved de afsvedne toppe, kendt som Ildbjergene. Vi stopper ved udsigtspunktet ved Montaña Rajada, inden vi ankommer til El Diablo, som er en restaurant bygget oven på Islote de Hilario-vulkanen. Restauranten er designet af Lanzarotes anerkendte arkitekt, Cesar Manrique, og fra vinduerne er der en eventyrlig panoramaudsigt til parken.

Efter at vi har fotograferet vulkankraterne og landskaberne spiser vi en middag, der bliver tilberedt på vulkanopvarmet grill, mens vi nyder udsigten og kanarisk musik.

Most of the tour was excellent, however the tour guide was very ignorant and rude, the wine tasting and vineyard was disappointing where again the tour guide was rude towards us. There was no explanation of the wine for example what grapes were used or how it was made. It was a case of walking into the vineyard drinking a shot glass of wine and getting back on the coach.

Spent 45 minutes picking up after us which wasn’t ideal. The ‘wine tasting’ would be best not mentioned and seen as a bonus stop, as it was 25 mins being given a thimble of wine then being encouraged to buy it for €19, Things got much better after that - the tour around the National Park was fantastic with a wonderful guide and amazing views. The food was sensational at the end of the day. Doubt it was really cooked over volcano heat but it was lovely and there was plenty… plus wine/sangria!

It was a good day overall. However the stop at winery was pointless was told would get 2 glasses of wine only gave us 1 had to ask for another which they made us lineup for again. Wasn’t there long. The volcano was fascinating and the food was nice but could have had more drinks considering how much we paid. Dropped us near our hotel on way back which was nice. Would have been better trip started earlier so there was more time instead of rushing around so much.

The tour guide was very knowlegable and made the whole trip entertaining. The area was very interesting. The dinner was well presented, served and very enjoyable. Overall an experience not to be missed.

The guide did not make sure everyone heard his instructions. We went to the gift shop and toilet and our party had disappeared. We panicked and did not know what to do. When we got back to the coach he was not pleased but it was not our fault as we could not hear what he was saying as it was very windy up there.

This ancient volcanic cavern was converted into a bar and concert space by local architectural legend, Cesar Manrique. After lunch, you'll get to find out how grapes are grown at a volcanic soil winery. You'll sample one-of-a-kind local wines from La Geria, a unique wine-growing region created after the Timanfaya volcanic eruptions 300 years ago. Next up is the Salinas de Janubio salt flats where traditional methods are still in use. Seawater enters shallow basins, evaporates under the sun, and workers harvest the salt manually. These salt flats are a haven for migratory and coastal bird species.Thanks to its otherworldly natural landscape, Lanzarote was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1993. And the star of the show here is undoubtedly Timanfaya National Park. Cesar Manrique’s Lanzarote tour with Cactus Garden and LagOmar

Guided wine-tasting tour of three Lanzarote vineyards

Lobos Island and Dolphin Watching Trip

Isla de Lobos, or island of the wolves, is as remote and wild as they come – and your destination for the day on this rejuvenating boat trip. You'll disembark at Lobos Island where the time's yours to swim and go in search of peace and tranquillity. During the journey to and from Lanzarote, keep an eye on the dolphins, flying fish and whales that may join us for the ride.You'll set sail from Puerto del Carmen, with Lobos Island in your sights. After about an hour and a half at sea, seeking out signs of activity for dolphins and whales, you'll land on the island's idyllic shores.
