Ting at foretage sig på Rotterdams gamle havn
Et stenkast fra kubehusene og det nye og topmoderne overdækkede marked (Binnenrotte) finder man Oudehaven-området. Stammende helt tilbage fra det 14. århundrede er det den ældste havn i Rotterdam. Det kan siges, at byens kommercielle liv og havneliv udviklede sig takket være denne havn.
I den historiske havn kan man beundre en imponerende samling af skibe og både, mens du slapper på en af barerne eller udendørsbordene beliggende i området. Her vil du også finde Willemsbrug-broen og Witte Huis, som betyder ' Hvide hus' på hollandsk, den første skyskraber i Europa bygget i 1898.
Oudehaven er en del af det maritime distrikt og kan nås med metro eller tog (stop Blaak) eller vandtaxa.

“Die versprochenen Städteführungen fanden nicht statt, es gab nur Stadtrundfahrten mit dem Bus. Die Freizeiten waren viel zu kurz um sich etwas anzuschauen oder in Ruhe zu Essen. Auch gab es nicht die versprochenen Ansagen in Deutsch - nur in Englisch und Spanisch. Die Erwartungen und die Freude auf diesen Ausflug waren groß und wurden sehr enttäuscht .”
