Ting at foretage sig på Hofburg Palace
Bygget i det 13. århundrede var Hofburg-slottet oprindeligt en middelalderborg, der blev udvidet gennem århundreder for at blive det smukke slot, vi kender i dag - et symbol på den østrigske kultur og de kongelige. Den seneste del slottet blev tilføjet i begyndelsen af det 20. århundrede, og den eneste tilbageværende del dateres tilbage til middelalderen er kapellet Burgkapelle. Slottet selv var hjem for nogle af de mest magtfulde monarker i Europa, såsom Det Habsburgske Dynasti, og slottet blev ved at ekspandere, og ligeså gjorde deres magt i Det Østrig-Ungarske Kejserrige. I århundreder har Hofburg-slottet været det kejserlige palads i hjertet af Wien og det vigtigste vinterresidens, hvor Schönbrunn-slotter i stedet er sommerresidens. I dag er slottet det officielle sæde for den østrigske præsident og er et ikonisk arkitektonisk vartegn, som ingen rejsende bør gå glip af.

“It would have been helpful to make the experience more relevant to TUI, for instance being informed that the pick up point for the bus a was 3 min walk from the boat NOT the city centre wasting a lot of time, Queuing and boarding was very disorganised, both in the city centre for the main bus and the road train tour of the palace grounds. The bus itself was clean and the tour commentary was clear and informative, but overall a lot of room for improvement of the experience.”
