You'll visit a museum that's housed in a historic building of the Arsenal dating from 1656, which served as a warehouse for the Royal Netherlands Navy.

You'll explore the museum and its library house, and you'll see one of the most important maritime collections in the world.   • Audio guide is available in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Korean
  • To receive the reduced student ticket, students (age 18-99) must show their valid student ID card upon entering
  • Infants (age 0-3) can enter the museum for free
  • Museum hours of operation:
  • Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00am - 5.00pm
  • The museum is closed on Monday, except for some holidays, from 10.00am - 5.00pm
  • Museum is always closed on:
  • King’s Day – 27 April; Christmas Day – 25 December; New Year’s Day – 1 January

    A bit disappointing to be honest. I thought it was lacking in content overall. When you consider the role of the Dutch in the development of modern capitalism, their colonial expansion, shipbuilding (the fluyt), the wars with Britain, the development of Amsterdam, the Water Defence Lines - MORE!
