Wawel-slottet i Krakow er det gamle hjerte af Polen, et mangefacetteret kunstmuseum og et kludetæppe af næsten alle europæiske arkitektoniske stilarter. Slottet ligger på Wawel-bakken med udsigt over floden Wisla. Det har i mange århundreder været residens for den polske kongefamilie.

Grunden og haverne omkring slottet er interessante at udforske og tilbyder smuk udsigt til Wisla-floden. Besøgende på slottet har adgang til de tidligere statsværelser og private kongelige gemakker, som omfatter noget af den oprindelige indretning. Kunstmuseet inkluderer forskellige permanente kunstudstillinger, der spænder fra orientalsk kunst til malerier (herunder italiensk renæssance), tryk, gobeliner, skulpturer, porcelæn, våben og mere. Besøg Dragens Hule, en legendarisk hule fuld af skumle faldbruber i den vestlige skråning på Wawel-bakken eller bestig Sandomierska-tårnet og nyd den fantastiske udsigt over Krakow og det omkringliggende landskab.
Wawel-katedralen ligger også på grunden og er grav- og kroningssted for mange polske monarker. Indgang til katedralen er adskilt, og kirken har et rigt dekoreret interiør, smukke kunstværker og relikvier.
